Margaret Zox Brown

Margaret Zox Brown is an American painter living and working in New York City. As she has evolved as an artist, her paintings have gone through various transitions and series. She has developed her own color language with which she is confident, and her paintings hover between figurative and abstract with elements of abstract expressionism. Her subject matter is everyday life, however, the colors she uses are quite extraordinary and raise the subjects above mundacity. Her paintings are color journeys with color being the true subject and the subject matter as the introductory and emotional form that leads the viewer through each painting.
